“Me and Mike WiLL teamed up, and it really just turned out to be perfect,” pop star says during Billboard Music Awards pre-show.

Next month, Miley Cyrus will make her long-awaited return to music: “We Can’t Stop,” the 20-year-old singer’s next single, will be unveiled on June 3, she confirmed during the 2013 Billboard Music Awards pre-show blue carpet presented by Cambio on Sunday night (May 19). Cyrus will premiere the song, produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, on Ryan Seacrest’s syndicated radio show next month.

“I’m so excited!” Cyrus gushed to Michelle Marie about “We Can’t Stop” on the Cambio blue carpet. The single will precede Cyrus’ still-untitled fourth studio album, which follows 2010′s “Can’t Be Tamed.”

“I feel like I can really be myself,” Cyrus said of her forthcoming album. “I really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now.”

Of “We Can’t Stop,” Cyrus added, “Me and Mike-WiLL [Made-It] teamed up, and it really just turned out to be perfect and exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I wanted my first sound to be, and my first look to be. I think it’s an important message for me to tell my fans — they haven’t stopped waiting, so it’s great.”

Cyrus is presenting an award at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on ABC. “30 Rock” alum Tracy Morgan is serving as host, with Don Mischer producing.

“It’s been such a while since I’ve been able to tell people what I’ve been up to — it’s been a minute, so I’m just happy to be able to tell my fans what I’ve been doing,” Cyrus said of her new material.

A source tells E! News that “something has been in the works for a collaboration” between the former tween idols, but isn’t quite sure “how far along” the twosome are in this mysterious project.

Thursday night, Miley wrote that she had to put her “#phonedown” to “focus on making this music with [producer] @MikeWiLLMadeIT.” The Biebs wasn’t explicitly mentioned, but Liam Hemsworth’s love clearly wants to keep this project on the DL.

The next day, Justin, 19, retweeted director Alfredo Flores, who said that, “@justinbieber’s been in the studio everyday since we got back. Kid doesn’t stop! Get Ready!”

Selena Gomez may have missed out to fellow child star Miley Cyrus in the Maxim Hot 100 List for the number one spot, but she’s been nothing but graceful about Miley’s win, claiming that she thinks she’s “beautiful”.

The 20-year-old singer came second place in the lads mag list of the world’s sexiest celebrities, as bleached former Hannah Montana star Miley came in at number one. After shaving off her long, brunette locks last year in an attempt to shake her Hannah Montana image, the Can’t Be Tamed singer has increasingly become involved in sexier photo shoots and ultra mini denim hotpants have become possible future Mrs Hemsworth’s wardrobe staple.

Miley Cyrus has explained her sex appeal lies in the fact that she never tries too hard.

The singer recently topped Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list after shedding her good girl image with a radical make-over.

Last year, the former Disney actress overhauled her girl-next-door look with a bleached blonde crop and a rock-inspired new wardrobe.

The Hannah Montana starlet explained that her drastic new hair cut and colour have given her an attitude boost.

“I think just never trying too hard,” Miley explained to ET Online. “My favourite thing is I love having short hair. I love it being just all about being confident and giving face. I love that.”

Miley, who is engaged to fellow actor Liam Hemsworth, added that she felt honoured to have been voted the sexiest woman.

The 20-year-old, who maintains her slim and toned figure with regular Pilates sessions, beat the likes of Mila Kunis, Jennifer Lawrence and Rihanna to the title.

Pop/rock superstar Miley Cyrus might be debuting her new single “We Can’t Stop” at the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday, May 20 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. That’s what the 20-year-old performer revealed in a series of tweets she sent out online to her millions of fans tonight.

“Big announcement about #wecantstop coming @billboard,” Cyrus wrote on Twitter, posting the caption along with the single art that revealed the new song’s hash-tagged title in white, block letters placed over a photo of Cyrus screaming, with both hands clasping her head.

“Cats outta the bag! LETS TREND MY 1st SINGLE #wecantstop,” Cyrus tweeted, asking her followers to help her make the first release of her forthcoming album trending worldwide. That’s what she immediately got, just ten short minutes later, which the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer revealed on her next Twitter message.

“#WeCantStop is the NUMBER ONE trending topic worldwide! Retweet if you can’t wait till I release #wecantstop @MikeWiLLMadeIt…We can’t stop TRENDING #wecantstop,” Cyrus exclaimed. Perhaps Cyrus wanted to know how much her fans want to hear her new music and depending on their response, the “Ashtrays and Heartbreak” collaborator might just release it even before the BMAs this weekend.

Miley Cyrus thinks Rihanna should be at the top of Maxim’s 2013 Hot 100 list.

The 20-year-old singer – who is engaged to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth – has been crowned the magazine’s sexiest woman of the year but admitted if she had a choice, Rihanna, 25, would be number one.

She told HollywoodLife.com: ”I think Rihanna. She is so sexy!”

Miley, who leaked the results early via her Twitter page before the publication officially announced the results, admitted she was so excited about the accolade, she found it impossible to keep the secret.

She said: ”My first reaction was to go straight to Twitter but I had to keep my paws off my phone. I had to keep my thumbs from pressing send. I think I announced it four days earlier by accident, but it was all because I was so excited.”

Miley also posted an exclusive picture of herself from the magazine’s upcoming steamy spread, in which she is laying seductively on a beach in a gold swimsuit even though she recently claimed she was no longer interested in stripping down for photo-shoots.

She said: ”A star is someone who doesn’t have to take her clothes off to be sexy because you naturally have star power. Sex does sell, but you have to find a way that’s not just showing your tits. I don’t want to be a glorified model. They just walk on stage and it’s all about their clothes – or lack of clothes.”

After releasing her track “Ashtrays and Heartbreak” with Snoop Lion, the singer teased that she just might have a new single to share with the world during Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards—and that’s exactly what’s happening.

Cyrus took to Twitter tonight and revealed that the title of her new song is “We Can’t Stop.”

“Cats outta the bag! LETS TREND MY 1st SINGLE #wecantstop,” she wrote. And Miley got just that.

“#WeCantStop is the NUMBER ONE trending topic worldwide!,” Cyrus tweeted less than 10 minutes later. “Retweet if you can’t wait till I release #wecantstop @MikeWiLLMadeIt…We can’t stop TRENDING #wecantstop.”

Although the title is now out in the open, it looks like Miley still has plans to surprise fans on Sunday: “Big announcement about #wecantstop coming @billboard.”
